As CEO and Lead Dentist at Camenzuli Dental Excellence, Dr. Robert A. Camenzuli delivers personalized, comfortable dentistry designed to create healthy, confident smiles. His passion for oral healthcare began in his teenage years during orthodontic treatments at the LSU School of Dentistry. Monthly visits to the clinic sparked his curiosity about clinical practice and inspired a lifelong dedication to dentistry.

Dr. Camenzuli’s defining moment arrived when he noticed how frequently individuals hide their teeth with their lips or hands when smiling. Driven by a desire to restore confidence, he made it his personal mission to help patients smile without hesitation—a principle that guides his practice today.

Born and raised in the New Orleans metro area, Dr. Camenzuli graduated from Brother Martin High School. A dedicated community youth leader, he attained the rank of Eagle Scout in 1991 and was named Archdiocese of New Orleans Young Man of the Year in 1993.

He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of New Orleans (1993–2001), where he was inducted into the Golden Key National Honor Society. He went on to achieve his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) from the Louisiana State University School of Dentistry (1997–2001), graduating as a member of the prestigious C. Edmund Kells Honor Society. As a student, he earned the Professionalism as a Dental Student Award from the American College of Dentists and the Excellence in Oral Diagnosis Award from the Organization of Teachers of Oral Diagnosis.

Licensed by the Louisiana State Board since 2001 (License #5317) with IV Moderate Sedation Certification Dr. Camenzuli brings over 25 years of clinical expertise spanning general dentistry, dental implants, Comprehensive care, Sedation Dentistry and orthodontics.

Dr. Camenzuli has completed over 2,200 hours of continuing education, demonstrating a commitment to advanced dental techniques and technology. He holds top elite distinctions in the profession:

• Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD): Achieved by only 6% of dentists in the U.S. and Canada. Requires over 500 continuing education hours (350+ live) and passing a rigorous comprehensive exam. Dr. Camenzuli is currently less than 60 hours away from completing his Mastership (MAGD).
• Fellowship in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (FICOI): Recognizing superior mastery in dental implantology.
• Fellowship in the American College of Dentists (FACD) & International College of Dentists (FICD): Peer-earned recognitions for outstanding leadership and contributions to dentistry.

Dr. Camenzuli has also been recognized annually as a “Top Dentist” in New Orleans Magazine every year since 2015.

Dr. Camenzuli remains actively involved in leading dental associations to shape the future of the profession:

• New Orleans Dental Association (NODA): 25-year member; Member at Large (2025) serving on the Board of Governors and in succession to serve as President; Volunteer/Speaker Concierge for ADA SmileCon 2024.

A firm believer in compassionate service, Dr. Camenzuli donates his time and skills to community health initiatives locally and globally:

• Dental Lifeline Network / Donated Dental Services (DDS Louisiana): Recognized as a Distinguished Volunteer and featured in the LDA Journal (Winter 2024) for providing free dental care to vulnerable individuals.
• LaMOM (Louisiana Mission of Mercy): Volunteer Dentist at large-scale free dental clinics in Baton Rouge (2015, 2018) and New Orleans (2016).
• International Outreach Missions: Participated in a dental mission trip with Latin World Ministries to Atoyac, Guerrero, Mexico (2000) and an Archdiocese mission to construct shelter in Sotuta, Mexico (1993).
• Linguistic Abilities: Fully bilingual in English and French, serving a diverse patient base.

Ensuring a comfortable, anxiety-free experience is at the heart of Dr. Camenzuli’s practice. Inspired by his mother’s severe dental phobia—which resulted in total tooth loss by age 18—he dedicated over 120 hours of post-doctoral training to achieve certification in IV Moderate Sedation. This allows patients with high dental fear to receive comprehensive care gently and painlessly, achieving healthy smiles without trauma.

Outside of his practice, Dr. Camenzuli and his wife Dana have been married for nearly 25 years and are proud parents of twin daughters. Veronica attends Tulane Law School, while Juliette attends LSU School of Dentistry, preparing to join her father in clinical practice. Their family also includes Hugo, a Poodle, and Freddie, a black Persian cat.

When he is not caring for patients, Dr. Camenzuli enjoys playing the piano, resistance training, practicing yoga, and hiking—including training with Dana to hike Rim-to-Rim across the Grand Canyon. An avid traveler, he enjoys exploring diverse cultures across North America and abroad.
